what would be a good gift to give my dad on his birthday? Everyone's got special
characteristics or features that make them unique. My dad is a Logistics and Operations
Manager for a steel company. Everyday he's got to make tough decisions that
cost the company a lot of zeros.
I
first drew my sketch on paper, scanned it and did pretty much everything else
on Illustrator. The reference I used was from a wedding photo (Wedding Photo you say? Yes! That's
what he looks like when he's smiling) and everything else from the neck down
was unusable. I know that he's got this orange striped shirt that he likes to
wear on the weekends. The folding of arms I added, using myself as reference to
lend itself to the tough boss-like exterior. I chose a red background to let the orange and
yellow shirt pop out even more. I then added a steel texture and scratches using
different blend modes in Photoshop.
